About The Artwork
My work is inspired by 18th century English folk art, knitted cardigans, hand bags and Chinese Ming dynasty ceramics. I have loved poodles since my childhood when my mother was allergic to animal fur and promised me a poodle, but my mothers allergy passed and we got a mogral dog instead. I hope the veiwer will enjoy the humour in the piece. I use clay because I love the medium - soft and pliable then hard when fired and layers of glazes finish the piece. I use Camberwell glazes to finish the work.
