About The Artwork
The Cape Buffalo is one of the most feared animals in the bush. They have an appearance of being docile, but they are crafty and incredibly fast when they want to be. A friend of mine was walking in the bush recently just north of the Limpopo, and were charged and gored by a buffalo, who was in a nearby thicket. Four weeks later he emerged from intensive care, one of the survivors! They exude power, and that is what I have endeavoured to capture with this sculpture.
