About The Artwork
“Celestial Tower” is part of the ‘Skyworks’ series of sculpture, Sheldon began in 2016. Sheldon creates a faux copper-feel with enamel paint. They appear mathematical in their appearance, but each piece is begun intuitively, by sketching and creating maquettes of wood. Vectored versions are then created on the computer and steel components are cut out with a laser cutter. Then, weld each component is welded together. As a sculptor, Sheldon aspires to touch viewers with a feeling of wonder and perhaps, if only for a moment, with thoughts about their relation to the greater Universe.
