1973, istanbul, after graduating from saint michel french high school, the artist started her education in istanbul university, faculty of literature, french philology. the artist then continued her education in mimar sinan fine arts university, department of ceramics and glass design, graduating from the department as the valedictorian of her class. She then pursued an academic career and became a graduate student in marmara university, fine arts institute, department of industrial design. she is an instructor in boğaziçi university, teaching ceramics from 2005 to 2017. the artist owns atelier 13 design and ceramics studio in istanbul. “Ceramics is a process with unforeseen consequences; the artist, based on this coincidentiality, makes a connection with the processes of the society that she lives in, and tells the topics of her work through the properties of the materials. as a result of the geography that the artist lives in, her topics foremost include women, ‘peace interests’ and religious elements. the artist, with ceramics as her main material, works on unit reproduction via mold, choosing the language of installation."
