Art Description

Sculpture: Wood on Wood.

"Climbing Creatures" is the key piece of a series of works called "Intramineral Light".

Initially conceived by Torres as artist's proofs for a gift, the piece became one after being installed in the male or convex corner of his atelier in Bogotá.

Inspired by minerals and light, this series of works is called "Intramineral Light", which refers to the self-conscious light that Torres finds when transcending limits and dead end situations.

Corners symbolize the limit of all limits, therefore intramineral light is the result of transcending them. "Modular Fungi" are creatures born from that light and symbolize new ways of dealing with matters such as space, limits, mineral resources and light itself.
