Jarosław Pikus was born in Tuchów, Małopolska. He graduated from The School of Art in Tarnów with the specialization in Decorative Arts. He gained a lot of experience in his trade working for very long in conservational studios in Cracow. He was responsible of conservations of many pieces of art. Studying and work experience in this field made him especially interested in traditional decorative techniques. Since 2006 Jarek has had his own workshop in Lidzbark Warmiński where he creates things using such techniques as marquetry, incrustation and gilding. The material he uses is wood which he feels comfortable working with. In his compositions he combines variety of shades and structures of wood. In this way, he creates pictures in which the natural structure of wood plays a significant role. Jarek also designs and creates unique pieces of veneered furniture.
