Arson Born in Paris in 1953 to a family from Nice, Arson is a daring and unconventional artist whose free spirit defies artistic norms. Enrolled at the École des Beaux-Arts at age 16, he honed his skills in painting, architecture, pottery, and sculpture, forging a distinctive style marked by bold sensuality. Arson reveres the human form, especially the feminine, as a wellspring of creative inspiration. Drawing from Duchamp’s Dadaism and Magritte’s Surrealism, his works invite viewers to look beyond the obvious. Of his enigmatic Esculmau, he provocatively states: “This is neither an ice cream nor a mere form; it is an Esculmau.” A visionary iconoclast, Arson creates raw, evocative sculptures that shatter taboos and ignite the imagination. His fascination with materials and his exploration of femininity challenge societal conventions, weaving a visual poetry that both captivates and provokes.
