In this new series, Hybrid Body-Recycled Body, my goal is to explore the body as a social, psychological and symbolic object. Understanding the body as the most concrete and immediate part of human presence, as an object of contact with social and ecological reality. In my plastic process I use recycled natural material as a way to emulate the denaturation of the body to turn it into a hybrid artifact. Nature and society, birth and socio-technological transformation of the most intimate object of human existence. Through the process with natural waste materials and synthetic materials, I seek to simulate the social construction of the body as something concrete and as a symbolic entity. Hybridization of organic waste and invented materials, the body becomes unrecognizable in the light of contemporary desires. In particular, I use the dry trunk of nopal and synthetic material that is intricate in the natural residue, leading to the creation of new forms of aesthetic image. The Hybrid Body-Recycled Body series should unsettle and disturb immediate reflections to give way to authentic reflections on the role of the female body in contemporary society.

Mexico
I live and work in Mexico City. I think art is essentially a mystery. Art is a means to explore the sense of life, our mere existence in a complex world. As a sculptor, I intend to investigate the human body and its links with symbolic space. I intend to take a closer look at the intimate geometry at the boundary between the human body and the sense of life. Solitude and disappointment, but also hope and healing of the self are the elements of my search.
