Dana Naumann - DEPORTATION 30 x 30 x 5" 25lb wall hanging mixed-media sculpture. wood, barbed wire, lead figure. A desolate face peers from the small window of a cattle boxcar packed with human beings like sardines, destined for the concentration camp of Auschwitz. Work inspired by Sigmund Strochlitz (1916-2006) Survivor of Auschwitz. Donor and colleague of the founding of the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. Personal friend of the artist.
