22 gauge brass wire
On Driftwood base

Two kinds of brass wire create the light and dark dapples that mimic patches of shade and sunlight on this lovely wire bonsai tree sculpture

Mountain trees are some of my favorites and were the inspiration for this piece.   Sunlight and Clouds paint these trees in contrasting shades of light and dark, while the rocky peaks help shape some of Mother Natures most stunning creations.

A turntable video is available on my website.

I have studied the art of bonsai for over to ten years. My wire bonsais developed as an offshoot from searching the internet for bonsai wire for some new saplings. My love affair with trees began at an early age. I spent a great deal of my childhood in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park. It was only natural that, as an adult, I gravitated to the art of Bonsai. I now live in South Carolina, surrounded by beautiful southern trees, and I have discovered the sheer joy of sculpting trees from wire. From those first simple wire trees to my current work, I have grown in love and skill of this art form. I am self-taught, and this schooling will last my lifetime. In the beginning, three local galleries carried my work, today I sell mainly by direct commission and through the internet. My trees are now in homes from coast to coast, north to south in the US. As of 2016, they have spread to Canada --proof that the language of trees is international. Video of each tree are posted on my website:
