Mary Romano

I have studied the art of bonsai for over to ten years. My wire bonsais developed as an offshoot from searching the internet for bonsai wire for some new saplings.
My love affair with trees began at an early age. I spent a great deal of my childhood in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park. It was only natural that, as an adult, I gravitated to the art of Bonsai. I now live in South Carolina, surrounded by beautiful southern trees, and I have discovered the sheer joy of sculpting trees from wire.

From those first simple wire trees to my current work, I have grown in love and skill of this art form. I am self-taught, and this schooling will last my lifetime.
In the beginning, three local galleries carried my work, today I sell mainly by direct commission and through the internet. My trees are now in homes from coast to coast, north to south in the US. As of 2016, they have spread to Canada --proof that the language of trees is international. Video of each tree are posted on my website:
