Linda Atkinson is a Virginia artist, living and working in Botetourt County, Virginia. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries across the country, in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Atlanta. She moved to California to pursue a Master's degree in sculpture, and after graduation was invited to teach sculpture and women’s studies at the University of California/Santa Cruz. Returning to her native Virginia 15 years later, she taught studio courses and art history for universities and colleges in southwestern Virginia. She was Gallery Director at Roanoke College for 14 years, providing regional and national artists exhibition opportunities, as well as multi-cultural collaborations with other arts organizations such as the Roanoke Symphony and Mill Mountain Theatre. Now retired from teaching, Linda maintains a full-time sculpture studio and gallery, and is represented by Zenith Gallery in Washington, D.C.
