Art Description

Sculpture: Paint, Spray Paint on Wood.

Hand and laser cut wood in relief on Birch. Acrylic and Silver spray paint with a custom made Birch frame. Inspired by the artist's adventures in Europe on his motorcycle. The piece gets it's name from the so-called Desert Sleds that were lightly modified road bikes, raced in the Mojave desert in the '60s and '70s by the likes of Steve McQueen and Bud Ekins who famously did the stunt in the Great Escape.
The striped dunes were all cut by the artist using a band saw
