West London artist who spent 20 years as an award-winning recording artist and international DJ. He ran his own underground dance label releasing 'breakbeat'. He was part of the seminal Rave band Rhythm Section before going solo and performing around the world including Glastonbury, Field Day Australia and The Ultra music Festival in Miami.
He switched to making art full time in 2013 when he got selected for the Royal Academy Summer Show in 2013. He was also short-listed in 2014 and 2015.
His work encompasses many varieties of printmaking including mono prints, screen prints, lino and digital.
Increasingly he is blurring the boundaries between them. He paints onto wood and has been exploring different textures including engineered Ebony and Zabrano on Birch which is then painted over.
Rennie went to Maidstone Grammar school
and then on to Watford Art College.
He spent several years being a copywriter and designer.
In the late 1980s he switched careers and started making object d'art out of metal before being bitten by the rave bug in 1990 when a long career as a dance artist/DJ took him round the world several time.
