Dogs on the run Sculpture

Sculptor Christa Kloppenborg (Valkenburg a/d Geul 1961, Netherlands) has long been active in art. She had her first professional training in Tilburg, where she got her bachelor at the former Moller Institute, where she graduated in 1986 in Handicrafts and Textile methods. Not ready learning she went to the Art Academy in Maastricht and got her masters in three-dimensional art and teaching. Then she set up her own forge where she made applied metal arts and theatre sets. After detours (computer animation and regular work), she settled down as an independent sculptor in 2006 in her studio Chris Klop in Tilburg. She works with various types of stone such as Bluestone, Marble, Alabaster, Opal and French limestone. In these stones she finds all kinds of mythical creatures in the strangest forms. Guided by the stone, which shows direction and shape, she liberates all these beings from their solid cage. The choice of stone is therefore of great importance. The peculiar nature of both title and form, speak volumes, as every images tell there own story(s) ... like The Legend of the bucking gang ... ... ...
