ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Abbraccio" by Roberto Tagliazucchi, a 2008/9 marble work, delves into emotional depth and human connection through sculptural form. The sculpture depicts two figures wrapped in an intimate embrace, their lines and curves nearly merging into one. Every detail of the marble, from the subtle veins to the smooth surfaces, enhances the tension and tender complicity between the figures. This piece transcends the simple act of embracing to become a symbol of universal unity and love, capturing an eternal moment of affection and mutual support. The choice of marble not only gives the sculpture classical beauty but also emphasizes the permanence and purity of the emotion portrayed. "...and in this embrace, like an unbreakable knot, I bind you to me for the eternity of stone!" Born from the heart of an ancient mountain, shaped by the breath and beat of a chisel, they speak of a love stronger than rock, of a bond that time cannot tarnish, nor the wind sweep away. An artist, with stormy hands and a sea-gazing look, captured the essence of union and care, telling without words, but with curves and spaces, the story of two souls, now united, under starry skies. The embrace is refuge, is home, is journey, is the safe harbor in a world of storms, is the promise of a warmth that does not wither, in the stillness of a sculpture, love confesses itself. Every observer who passes by, stops, and reflects, feels their own heartbeat, in the embrace of stone, and for a moment the marble turns to flesh, becomes alive, and the embrace extends, beyond art, an invitation. Thus in a forgotten corner, where no noise dares, the marble embrace whispers, eternal in its pose, of a love that endures, of a passion sculpted, in art that imitates life, in an embrace, life is... written.
