In this sculptural project, I have utilized my knowledge of biology to propose and generate ideas of life beyond Earth's orbit. We are still not entirely capable of accepting these forms of life due to the lack of credible information about what the beings we might encounter outside of Earth could look like. The inspiration for this sculpture comes from the ghost mantis insect, known for its unique appearance and fascinating behavior. To create this anthropomorphic figure, I used the technique of carving a polystyrene block. I chose this medium for its malleability and ability to be sculpted with precision, allowing me to shape an entity that fuses terrestrial biology with cosmic imagination. The resulting figure is a synthesis of the known and the unknown, a representation of what an alien entity in an unknown world might look like. I hope that viewers feel a mixture of wonder and curiosity, reflecting on the possibilities of life beyond our planet and the creativity needed to imagine such forms. This sculpture not only presents an artistic vision of extraterrestrial life but also invites a broader conversation about our place in the universe and the infinite possibilities yet to be discovered.

Hello, my name is Tlalok Eligio and I am an emerging Mexican artist. For many years, I have felt a deep passion for art and a desire to share my work with the world. Six years ago, I made one of the most important decisions of my life: I decided to make a radical change and leave behind my job and the life I was leading. Previously, I studied and graduated in biology, a discipline that has always fascinated me. However, despite my love for biology, I felt that something was missing. I didn’t feel completely fulfilled or happy. From a very young age, I always had a natural inclination towards drawing and painting, and I constantly felt the urge to explore that creative side of myself. After graduating and working for a while in the field of biology, I finally decided to follow my true vocation. I enrolled in the Fine Arts program, convinced that it was the right path for me. Since then, I have dedicated my time and effort to perfecting my technique and exploring different styles and media. This decision has undoubtedly been the best I have ever made. Every day I spend creating art, I feel a profound satisfaction and a connection with my true self. Art for me is more than a passion; it is a bridge that connects emotions, cultures, and people. I firmly believe that art has the power to transcend borders, connect, and educate in a unique and meaningful way. I am excited about the possibility of showcasing the fruits of my labor and the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally through this artistic journey. My commitment is to create works that reflect my passion, dedication, and the richness of my experiences, hoping they resonate with the hearts of those who behold them.
