About The Artwork

The family was the first institution created by God, hence the importance of having a well-structured family. Good organization, education and activities are the reason for a just society free from bad moral practices. This work was carved from soapstone, better known as steatite (also talcum stone or soapstone). It is a very soft rock with low hardness, as it contains large amounts of talc in its constitution, thus enabling to sculpt and create both human and animal forms, or even create objects for domestic and ornamental use. toothed hammer, carving hammer, were some of the instruments used to sculpt this work.

Aeidy Kassimba, a Mozambican artist born in 1976, is a talented multidisciplinary artist known for his works in abstract art, sculpture, and photography. In recent years, he has risen to prominence, with his pieces being sold in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Despite limited exposure, he collaborates with renowned interior decorators both inside and outside of Mozambique. His unique style, blending contemporary and traditional elements, has garnered a loyal base of collectors and collaborators. A self-taught artist by nature, Aeidy Kassimba was heavily influenced by his family. His brother, a celebrated portrait artist, and his father, an avid collector of African art paintings and sculptures, instilled in him an appreciation for art from a young age. He initially embarked on a career in art commerce but was ultimately drawn to the world of artistic creation. This connection between art trading and artistic expression proved to be a critical asset in his swift ascent. He currently resides in Chimoio, where he has been developing his works, organizing exhibitions, and engaging in social services, demonstrating a profound commitment to both his art and his community. "I am grateful to have this gift of being able to create artwork and I am happy to be able to share this gift with you and I hope you will have one of my work in your home, office, company, restaurant, hotel or as a gift to someone on a special date. , such as birthday, christmas, end of year, graduation, promotion, wedding, engagement and more."
