Mixed Media ‘wreath as art form’ constructed from a base of recycled wine corks, acrylic & nail polish-painted wood, metal & cork, covered in a themed mixture of glass, crystals, lamp work beads and semi-precious stones.
I’ve been exploring a different medium in creating these wreaths... I find that the themes that often inspire me most are constructed from a concern for the well being of our planet. The number of disappearing species, the destruction of our rain forests and the chemicals our government allows to be sprayed onto our food and creatures. When I think of Global Warming, I know it is much more than just rising temperatures, but in my mind’s eye I picture a future like Blade Runner and I see fire.
