Flower Power Sculpture

On an intuitive level, the materials suggested certain ideas to me. I like making the top section of the work like a flower that is just beginning to bloom. Inside the metal folds there is an anthropomorphic log that resembles the lower segment of a human body part, that is accompanied by an extra large pinecone that I found in Giant Sequoia National Park. I hope the viewers will experience a sense of emotional "lift" or elevation from seeing this fanciful playful sculpture. I found the discarded wire mesh in my studio building; I like manipulating it so I endeavored to create a series of sculptures combining found man-man objects and found natural objects.
