This unique artwork has been created with a 3D pen and flexible TPU filament. The filament is heated inside the pen and extruded in a melted, pliable state. Drawing with a 3D pen is literally drawing with plastic. The negative spaces (geese) are supported with transparent filament which is barely visible against a white background. The artwork hangs beautifully from a wooden dowel which measures 71cm in length. The black filament used is incredibly strong and durable. TPU filament is commonly used in footwear, drive belts and inflatable rafts etc. The wall hanging is shown to its best advantage against a plain, light colour. It just wouldn't work against patterned wallpaper. Of course there's always the option of cutting away the dowel and having the work professionally framed as a piece of textile art. This is a very stylish example of minimal art and is so lightweight and easy to hang.

United Kingdom
Paula grew up in the beautiful city of York in the United Kingdom and was employed as a textile designer in the early years of her working life. Art has always been a constant and she has explored and experimented with many conventional and unconventional materials. The first sculptures she sold were made out of bread dough which were baked and varnished. These pieces proved so popular that she was able to pursue her dream of being a self employed artist and sold her work successfully through art fairs and markets. Eventually Paula discovered coloured hot melt glue sticks which was an unexplored and really exciting medium to work with. She managed to incorporate wire into the melted glue and was able to form amazing sculptures which were exhibited in many galleries including The Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Further experimentation resulted in the glue guns being used on canvas with the glue replacing acrylic paint which she’d previously used. These sculptural paintings (animal portraits and landscapes) have also enjoyed great success and have been shipped as far and wide as the USA and Australia. One of her beautiful horse paintings was featured on the cover of Equestrian Trade News magazine. More recently Paula has enjoyed working with her latest discovery, the 3D Printer Pen. This ingenious little device allows the artist to draw with melted plastic. Once the filament has cooled, the drawing is a permanent artwork which will hold its shape and can be hung from a dowel or professionally framed. These wall hangings have a lace-like quality and they can be categorized as sculpture and drawing as they are both. For the last four years Paula has lived in Wensleydale and has drawn her art inspiration from the local breath taking countryside and wildlife.
