Frida Imersiva Sculpture

Inspired by the strength of Frida Kahlo, a great woman and artist, who suffered many physical limitations after a traffic accident on the bus she was traveling in, but without ever losing her creativity. This work was made with a steel plate. In it, the image of Frida, even though it is covered by copper cables, which dominate the whole piece (like the difficulties that the artist faced in her life), Frida's strong face manages to stand out. stand out, showing their strength and endurance. During the production process, my mother was also going through a very difficult period with an illness that affected her movements. I wanted to honor these two incredible women. I created the “frida” series, where the artist's image is present in my work, appearing among the tangles of wires and cables. Frida brought me inspiration, revealing that even trapped, whatever element or condition it may be, she still resists art.
