Gazelle Sculpture

Sculpture: Paper clay, tissue paper, acrylic paint, cotton thread. I began making a series of anthropomorphic animal figures when my son was small as a way to explore the world from his viewpoint (knee-level) and at a smaller scale. These animal figures quickly became our good friends, and as my son grew older he began to request different animals. I loved having him be a part of the process. Gazelle can stand or sit and has wiggly limbs that are attached with thread. She is ready to make your acquaintance!
