Golden panther.
Jaguar (No. 4)

This jaguar is part of the series : Tropical Emissaries.

This work of art is sculpture and painting at the same time. I call them pictorial sculptures. The painting leaves the canvas and adapts to the curves of the piece. The structure and form is built with recycled materials such as wood, metal and cardboard mache, being a very strong material.

The concept of the work is about the care and admiration for the biodiversity. In the body they have tattooed flora, fauna and cultural elements, which are related to the species.

My main desire with this work is to contribute to the knowledge and love for nature to evolve and live with natural resources in a balanced and harmonious way.

I am Master in Plastic Arts from the National University of Colombia. I am a painter and sculptor, through painting and sculpture my works reflect and enhance nature. In these times when we are called to take care of our planet. Humans, animals and plants are manifested in brushstrokes of vivid colors. I like that my works transmit strength and life. My sculptures are very novel works because they are made with recycled materials, for example: iron, wood and cardboard assembled with screws. then when the figure of the animal is ready, I paint on the surface of its body. In other words, the sculpture works in this case as a canvas. The images refer to the animal's relationship with its environment and its cultural references. Despite the pandemic, I keep working on new works. Next I invite you to enjoy my works.
