About The Artwork
The process of making the clay head works, there has to be some mystery with them, right? But this process creates a strangely calming effect, senses of sight and hearing are superseded by touch, and it can be strangely introspective and meditative, you can sense your thoughts, heartbeat and breathing. It is a real engagement with material and touch, something that the digital world feels increasingly alienated from. Inspired by the world around me, I have incorporated my worries and hopes for the future of this world. The sculpture is inspired by Guy Fawkes and his famous mask. The mask represents the rebellious hero half asleep, he looks almost like a vision from a dream. This allows for different interpretations. It is possible that this character will wake up and go into power, or it may not. For this reason, I don't want to interpret it myself. I think everyone who see my works has the right to interpret them in their own way, according to their own feelings. The mask is fixed on a wooden base. The wooden base is glued with canvas, primed and painted with acrylic. Ready to hang.
