Horse Hair is a special technique where horse hair is used to decorate the surface. These tiny little bowls are individually thrown from a smooth white porcelain. Once dry, the pieces are bisque fired to make them strong enough to handle. They receive several hand painted coats of terra sigillata, and are then fast fired in raku kiln. When the kiln temperature reaches about 1400 F, I quickly pull the hot, glowing pieces from the kiln with long tongs, and place them on a non-flammable surface (such as a piece of kiln shelf) and the selected hairs are draped onto pieces. They sear onto surface's and leave localized carbon markings. When pieces cooled I just brushed away any burnt remnants and applied the micro-crystalline wax polish to the surface to denote all lines. Dimensions: Largest Bowl is 3″H, 8″D Smallest Bowl is 1″H, 2 1/2″D I appreciate everyone’s business very much. With your purchase, you support me, a self-employed artist who is lucky enough to be doing what I love because of people like you. Also allow me to be a stay-home mom, so our whole family thanks you as well! For those who wants to see backstage life and be first to check new ceramics straight from the kiln, welcome to my Instagram account .

Natalya Sevastyanova is a Los Angeles-based contemporary ceramic artist whose work bridges the untamed beauty of nature with modern design. Born and raised amid the vast and rugged landscapes of the Ural Mountains in Russia, Natalya draws profound inspiration from the natural world that surrounded her upbringing. Her artistic journey began as a muralist and animator, and she honed her creative sensibilities through an M.F.A. in Architecture Design at the Academy of Architecture and Arts in Yekaterinburg, Russia, and Santa Monica College, California. These experiences cultivated her eye for form, structure, and the interplay between art and environment. In 2013, Natalya turned her focus to clay, a medium that allowed her to express the organic beauty of nature in tactile and timeless forms. Over the years, her work has evolved from functional pottery and ceremonial teapots to intricate wall sculpture installations that transform spaces. Her installations have been featured in galleries, residential interiors, and commercial projects across Los Angeles and throughout the United States. Under her brand, SevaCeramics, her pieces have also gained international recognition for their ability to merge rustic elegance with contemporary aesthetics. Working from her private studio in Los Angeles, Natalya continues to explore the intersection of nature, art, and architecture, creating ceramic works that bring a sense of serenity and natural flow into modern spaces.
