About The Artwork

This piece is a twice scale mixed media sculpture. The head, hands and feet are silicone rubber, all clothes are made from fabric and the body is a steel frame covered in soft foam. The piece was inspired from a sit down chat with a homeless man in sitting on a street corner in the city, and observing how the public treated him. He explained to me how people treated him as an annoying object instead of a human. With this piece I hope to raise social awareness of humanities problem, to inspire, deepen and educate the viewer. They aren't there by choice, nor do they want to be there, they are simply trying to survive the best they can. I like working with mixed media because of its freedom. Playing with scale also fascinates the viewer. My subject matter varies depending on what inspires me at the time. My style is hyper realism, copying what nature has created is a exciting challenge fro me.
