Damir Romanenko was born in small industrial town in Siberia where the locals are mostly engaged in production of space rockets and extraction of hard coal. The principle of contrast is the main rule in his artworks. As the author explains: ‘The contrast attracts me in all its manifestations, in particular the contrast of roughness and perfection, real and unreal’. Engineering class among whom he grew up and the fellowship with students of Moscow Aviation Institute situated near his alma mater influenced a lot his methods of his composition, technology and materials which he use. The author constantly turn to industrial aesthetics, laser cutting technologies, 3D modeling and modern alloys. Damir began to show his works only year ago, but they have already been bought in the Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry collection. At the moment he is working at his new series of artworks for Khankhalaev Gallery in Moscow.
