ABOUT THE ARTWORK

POPART | STREETART | URBAN | GRAFFITI | EXPRESSIONISM | SPIRITUAL ABSTRACTS | MODERN ART | POST-MODERN ART | 2020 Thank You for Visiting! What does "if you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him" mean? In order to see the Buddha, you have to BE the Buddha. If you aren't the Buddha, you can't really understand the Buddha. Once you understand the Buddha, you can let him go. Not before. This is truly a sculpture for those who understand. My art attracts people who are looking for authenticity, each one is a struggle; each one a balancing act between color, shape, line, surface, space, abstraction, and object. Chris can often be found documenting graffiti with his camera, finding inspiration in the city around him, looking down alleyways, climbing street poles, exploring everywhere, and uncovering new work. Graffiti is much like a logo design where there is always a fresh attitude and boldness which is fertile ground for new ideas. Every time you look at one of my works you will notice something; a small nuance or intricacy that you did not see before, it will brighten up your day and become an endless source of inspiration for your life. I want you to see a starting point and perhaps get momentarily lost; I hope that you will dream. __________________________________________ EVERY PIECE IS CREATED IN MY STUDIO, MADE FOR URBAN LIFE, TO PERSONIFY THE BUSTLING, SEXUALLY CHARGED MARCH FORWARD YOU FEEL WHEN LIVING IN A CITY, TO KNOW YOU'VE MADE IT, OR TO GIVE HOPE THAT SOON YOU WILL. YOU ARE POWERFUL. YOU ARE PASSIONATE, AND YOU'RE ONLY JUST GETTING STARTED. ___________________________________________ One of a kind painting comes with a certificate of authenticity. Created with high-quality acrylic paint, arrives ready to hang on your wall, the sides are painted. The piece will be titled, dated, and signed in permanent marker. Yours to keep forever! ______________________________________________ Copyright © 2020 Chris Crewe - All Rights Reserved.

« I hope you will see a starting point and maybe get a bit lost: I hope that you will dream. » Emerging artist Chris Crewe compares life to a trapeze act. Always knowing that the next rung will be there, he hasn't fallen yet. The Canadian artist has been studying the use of sledgehammer as a paintbrush, replicating marks, and incorporating them into his abstract works. Crewe also makes paint markers out of plastic bottles by melting the plastic to turn the lid into a spout, often using them to draw in free-flowing gestures. His unique works are meant to 'brighten your day'.
