About The Artwork

I champion the art of reclamation, an ethos born of the crushing need to re-purpose and re-create. My art both celebratesand decries the detritus of our late-capitalist culture. Refuseachieves a rhythm of its own as I transform the guts of our digital enablers. My use it, don't lose it, Art from my high-tech, 3-D series, Electronic Viscera, reveals the inner workings of our enslaving, labor-saving devices so that viewers can make the connection between art, technology, and sustainability. I aim to create awareness and engage viewers in a direct conversation about our ecological and social responsibilities, and perhaps prod my verbal and visual interlocutors to ponder a less harsh future. Detritus harbors a prior, perhaps grounded energy -- the metal and paint, the twisted things I twist anew, even theprosaic plastic. I scrape and scratch to expose hidden forms, submerged colors. With luck, I reveal noise, dimension, modulation. In short, Reverberation.
