About The Artwork
Description: For this art work, called IcARTus, I found inspiration in the Greek legend Icarus. In the name Icarus I implanted letter T after letter R, and so I created word ART in the middle and it became IcARTus. Through the ages Icarus has symbolized creativity, art and freedom. With my new invented word IcARTus, I wanted to emphasize that meaning. Using art tools to create my sculpture/installation I made a direct connection between Icarus and Art. The real Icarus used wax to attach the wings to his hands. To attach my palettes to the hands of my mannequin I wrapped empty color tubes around his wrists. Al my art is copy right.
