Iridescent Black Skyscraper Sculpture

Art designed to withstand the non-sterile gallery that a garden is and to survive outside in all weathers. The inspiration for all my work is the amazing glass that is available and how it can be used for people to see its beauty inside and outside. The way it changes appearance in different light conditions and angles of viewing fascinates me. This Stained Glass Garden Art "Skyscraper" sculpture was designed and made by me using Black Iridescent Opaque Glass, lead and marine grade stainless steel. I originally designed it for a show garden at the 2016 Sandringham Flower Show. It is easily installed in a garden by pushing the 15inch legs into the ground. Given it is made in the same way as church windows it can be left outside all year, except in extremely windy and snowy conditions. It could also be installed inside in a large flower pot or on a suitable base (not included). The glass is highly reflective causing it to change appearance constantly as the sun moves round and light conditions change. It resembles a modern glass clad skyscraper. The back is finished to the same standard but is just jet black, smooth and shiny with no iridescence. I find all my stained glass garden art takes on a life of its own, that always needs checking when in the garden or looking at the garden. The dimensions of the tower are 42inches (106cm) x 4.5inches (11.5cm) and the legs are 15inches (40cm) long. A total length of 57 inches (146cm).
