Peter Wiltshire

My name is Peter Wiltshire. I live in Norfolk, England. Born in 1958, I've been making stained glass since 2001 and have been making items to sell since May 2014.

I design and make experimental stained glass to hang inside and outside and to plant in gardens. Exploiting the beauty of glass and the weather proofing attributes of lead to display it. I am fascinated with how sculptures, wall art and hanging ornaments made with glass change appearance constantly with the light conditions and angle of viewing.

My Garden Art is designed to withstand the non-sterile gallery that a garden is.

My Wall Art is designed to be looked at rather than through.

Other than basic tuition from 2001 to 2003, I am self-taught. Resulting in a fresh approach to how glass, lead and other materials such as stainless steel can be used together.

I designed and made five experimental stained glass sculptures for the Raveningham "Creative Odyssey" Sculpture Trail that was open for the whole month in August 2021. All five were designed to move in the wind in a different way.

I designed and made five stained glass sculptures that hung in trees, on the Waveney and Blyth Arts, Waveney Valley "Woven Woodland" Sculpture Trail at Raveningham, Norfolk, England. This was open to the public from 2nd August to the 8th September 2019. In the vote for the publics' favourite work I came 7th out of the 40 artists.
