Bodhidharma (Damo, Darumo; 440-528 or 536) — the first Patriarch of Chan Buddhism, the founder of the teachings of Chan (Zen), the 28th Patriarch of Buddhism. Ivan is a traditional Russian hero-a fool, a Tsarevich, a dragon winner, and a Master. Thus, Ivan Bodhidharma is a symbol of our inner hero, a metaphor for the potential of human existence, free from titles, religions, forms and opinions.
