Jan Švankmajer Sculpture

The piece want to honor the legacy of this great man, the last surrealist artist alive. The style is reminiscent of many Jan's animations made on clay in many of his stop-motion short films. Modeled on clay, casted in wax, and finally on bronze, this piece has the detail that only metal can provide. Using a classic style on the portrait, inspired by many great sculptures, this was one of the last pieces made by Luis in the fine arts career, and then part of a exhibition curated by himself, focus on the great and old stop-frame technique, along with many other pieces like puppets and props of mexican, italian and american animated projects in summer of 2016.
