ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I explored shapes and lines inspired by Kandinsky's compositions, through use of discarded materials such as plastic, fabric and acrylic yarn waste. I used primarily embroidery and crochet as my techniques, with a bit of weaving. The result is a super lightweight composition. It is randomly draped over five pushpins - you may prefer to choose other angles, according to your desire, or change the work's orientation entirely. The crocheted fluorescent plastic plays with the traveling sunlight - or vice versa - certainly a joint effort in added amusement. This artwork will be shipped in a cardboard box secured by layers of bubblewrap.
