About the Artist

Evgeny Gitin

Georgia

The present is a point of tension between reflection on the past and anxiety for the future. Our age, with its unprecedented information overload, contrasts, and upheavals, tears us away from the present, creating an internal fracture and leading us into a world of illusions.

I am convinced that the only way to counter this disintegration is through conscious creation. The profound meaning of existence lies in bringing something new into the world, something that did not exist before you. Each of my sculptures is an act of such contribution, an embodied attempt to root myself in the current moment and preserve it.

My art is an insistent invitation to pause. To linger "here and now." And to discover that this "now" is not an emptiness between the past and the future, but the only space where form, meaning, and beauty are born. To create is to be wholly present in the now, transforming it from a point of rupture into a point of assembly.

We do not choose the time in which we live. But we can choose our response. My response is creation—as an antidote to burnout and the only way to truly leave a trace of the present moment in the future.
