Yet he walks with his head held high, the saddle empty, in gratitude for his master, the fallen solider. The sculptor has brought to life this stunning piece. Once a beautiful horse is now wounded beyond comprehension, depicted by the tearing of skin and the tinge of blood along the face, chest and hind legs.
