Rumen Dimitrov graduated from the High School of Art in Kazanlak, Bulgaria, and holds an M.A. degree from St. St. Cyril and Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. He is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. In 1999, he founded the DUPPINI Art Group Association. Since 2011, as chairman of the Duppini Association (a non-governmental organization), he has organized numerous international and national art initiatives, including the International Art-in-Nature Symposium “Art – Nature Gabrovtsi” (2012–2023) and the mini-festival for contemporary art “The Old Post or the Contemporary Means of Communication.” He also initiated the project “Master, Journeyman and Apprentice” within the “Debuts” program of the National Culture Fund, as well as the “DuppiniLIKE” project at the Old Post Office in Veliko Tarnovo (2012–2013). Dimitrov regularly leads workshops in nature art and sculpture for various art education charities. In 2017, he became the director of the GLOBAL NOMADIC ART PROJECT EUROPE (GNAP) in Bulgaria. The Duppini Art Group is one of the organizers of GNAP together with the Korean association YATOO. He has participated in major international nature art and land art events, including the International Nature Art Seminar at National Gongju University, South Korea (2013), GNAP projects in Korea (2014), India (2015), Europe and Turkey (2017), Mexico (2019), and France (2023). Dimitrov has been invited to numerous prestigious symposiums, projects, residencies, and land art events worldwide. He has held over 15 solo exhibitions and received several notable awards, including: 2009 – Sculpture Award, Allianz Bank Awards 2011 – Special Selection Prize, Sea Art Festival (part of the Busan Biennale), South Korea 2012 – Honorary Citizenship of Icheon, South Korea 2013 – Sculpture Award, International Biennial of Humour and Satire, Gabrovo, Bulgaria 2017 – Public Vote Award, Biennale of Sologne, France Among his most significant recent projects are an installation exhibition at the Pilar & Joan Miró Foundation in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, the Icheon International Sculpture Commission and Sea Art Festival in Busan, South Korea, as well as participations in Vign’Art and Horizons Sancy (France), South Links Arts Festival (Taiwan), and the Green Art Festival in the gardens of the Reggia di Venaria Reale, Turin, Italy.
