About The Artwork
As if beamed into the present from prehistoric times - this sculpture from the Lichtwuchs//Light Growth series feels unusually timeless. Through very massive and deeply furrowed structures, powerful nuances of colour penetrate from all layers into the uppermost layers. Nothing can be exactly fixed or classified. An energetic concentration of material, colour and form visibly increases in the upper areas of the sculpture and leads to a powerful unfolding process: Thick active orange layered with silicone grows to a bubbling and spraying climax - to a maximum energy density. A part of the creative work is the reuse - upcycling - and reshaping of pre-used plastics and materials. Kerstin Amend Pohlig is very concerned with giving value back to what has apparently become worthless - in unusual aesthetics with lasting meaningfulness.
