ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The inspiration came from a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke: The Carousel (New Poems First Part). The poem is about a Carousel, the movement and associations that are evoked. There is a little blue girl on the saddle of a deer, it just goes round and round, and it just turns, whirls bound by no purpose. It paints a picture of the enchantment, colourfulness, wonder and transience of life.
