ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A wonderfully strong and tactile object, inspired by mid century poster art and contemporary low polygon design. The body is nonagonal in horizontal section, allowing for a pleasing rotational symmetry for a tri finned rocket. Constructed from 1mm mild steel polygons with exposed MIG weld bonds. Polished to a bright finish that will mellow and patina with time.

Utilizing techniques including 3d and 2d CAD design mixed with manual construction, welding, grinding and finishing. He is interested in the contrast between new media and modern techniques, with aged materials and manual processes. Greg is exploring the use of electronics and internet connected art as a new dimension in highlighting the interplay between new and old.
