Marble Nude Sculpture

Hello. I am a Scottish artist and I now live in Devon. The creative process is my passion. I first started carving when I was given a piece of yew and bought some tools from a local carpenter. I have always had a passion for figurative drawing and painting but I fell in love with carving and went on to study sculpture at Cheltenham. I love many sculptors and artists work and draw inspiration from them. My particular favourites are: Camille Claudel, Käthe Kollwitz, Barbara Hepworth, Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt oh I could go on and on! I also adore very minimal but deliberate use of paint/ink and have recently discovered the stunning work of David Downton. I like the flowing lines of fashion and feel that this has also influenced my work. My other love is music and I have recently written some songs. I released one which is a tribute to my parents. I sing locally, mostly in a band with my brother. Over the past few years I have learnt the guitar, which I find great joy in playing. I hope this gives a little insight into who I am, thanks for taking an interest in my work.
