"Mi pobre corazón" es una escultura que quiere transmitir humanidad: es un corazón que sufre, que se rompe, pero que sigue ahí, resistiendo. Es imposible no sentir empatía al mirarlo, porque todos hemos sentido alguna vez que nuestro corazón se deshace un poco.

Despite coming from a family with a long tradition in blacksmithing, my foray into the world of sculpture was somewhat late. However, once I discovered my passion for this art, there was no turning back. Each piece I create reflects my personal journey and the influences I have gathered along the way. About 30 years ago, my artistic journey took a turn towards furniture restoration. During this period, I immersed myself in training as a restorer, where I gained a deep understanding of conservation and renovation techniques. This phase of my career not only expanded my skill set but also allowed me to explore the intersection between functionality and aesthetics, enriching my perspective as a sculptor. As I progressed in my practice, I experienced a natural evolution towards abstract sculpture. Wood became my primary canvas, and through it, I explored the expressive freedom that abstraction allows. The incorporation of iron in my works marked a new phase, blending the robustness of metal with the elegance of wood to create unique pieces that transcend conventions. In recent years, I have taken my art to new horizons by venturing into stone sculpture. This technical challenge has allowed me to explore the artistic possibilities inherent in this solid and durable material. My stone works seek to communicate not only forms and textures but also a deep connection with nature and the history that lies within each piece. My career has been characterized by constant experimentation and the desire to transcend artistic boundaries. My training is self-taught, which has allowed me to develop skills independently and adapt quickly to new challenges. In summary, my journey as a sculptor has been an exciting one, moving from the roots of blacksmithing to abstract exploration and, finally, to stone sculpture. Through each phase, my approach has been enriched, and my work reflects the synthesis of tradition, technique, and creativity in constant evolution.
