I grew up in the beautiful city of York and my first creative job was as an illustrator/textile designer for a screen printing company. I also produced quirky sculptures made from wire and coloured glue sticks. These pieces proved so popular that I was able to pursue my dream of being a self employed artist/maker and sold my work successfully through art fairs and galleries. It was a feather in my cap when The Yorkshire Sculpture Park showed my figurines in their garden gallery. Eventually I used the glue guns on canvas creating sculptural paintings (abstract animals and landscapes) which were sold and shipped as far and wide as the USA and Australia. One of my horse paintings was featured on the cover of Equestrian Trade News magazine. More recently I've enjoyed working with 3D Printer Pens. This simple device allows the artist to draw with melted plastic. Once the filament has cooled, the drawing is a permanent artwork which will hold its shape and can be hung from a dowel or professionally framed. I am using a TPU filament which is made from 100% recycled materials. I love making art from waste. For the last four years I have lived in Wensleydale and have drawn my art inspiration from the local breathtaking countryside and wildlife.
