Neutral Paperwork: this minimalistic wall sculpture is based on paper snippets in shades of white, taupe and light brown. For this unique sculpture series I use titanium white, gray or black primed canvases in different sizes and thousands of paper snippets in multiple colors. Be careful - the artwork is very delicate and it appears very fragile. But that's my intention, it's a symbol for elegancy and lightness in the transience! The artwork is done on a high quality canvas. A coat of varnish was applied to protect the painting from uv rays and dust. It is hand signed by me on the frontside and will arrive ready to hang. Since the pandemic, the year 2020 stands for privation, fear, anger and uncertainty, but especially for the reduction of human contacts, which are reflected in my new "Neutral" series. In this series I consciously decided against my usual color palette. Therefore, my works are focused on shapes, structure and neutral colors. This big step is making me lose my most familiar and important tool, the power of color. But in every loss there is hope and a new beginning. I trust in the beauty, aesthetics and in my creativity and I’m curious about it myself, which works this new series will produce. Astrid Stoeppel
