ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Sewn linen and cotton fabric on soft corduroy chenille. Gently unwoven and unwound. When outside forces inevitably gravitate, their chaotic pull frays and tears, we stand firm. Christie Sommers works with fabric scraps from her zero-waste clothing line, West Oak Design. Her slow and contemplative works are inspired by the likes of Joan Miro, Mark Rothko, Richard Serra, Tadao Ando, among others.
