ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This sculpture-installation is called Ombelico Yin. This installation is the result of investigating origin, a theme I chose on the first day of the 504 performance without having thought about it beforehand. ( 21 days, 21 works, without ever leaving the 24-hour gallery in ) Each work in this series is concerned with representing a different point of view or factor through more or less recognizable forms and symbolism. The purpose was to reflect and analyze on as many fronts as possible, incipit laws of creation, questions, presentations ... also trying to understand what makes the same origin move and how much the individual is aware of it. The exhibition was constantly evolving because every day a new work was added to the series. . The form and material are of this aspect because I wanted to create a kind of DNA. The choice of Material bamboo has basic characteristics similar to being human, resilience being and growing in a group and propagation by root, while the form takes its cue from scaffolding, which wraps, supports, restores and constructs buildings or the infrastructure we inhabit. However, I am trying to modify my creative and aesthetic process to expand the research in this performance that began with the intention of prioritizing new information.

Born in 1984 in the Province of Vicenza, son of art... unconventional. His artistic interest began in 2010 when he moved to Barcelona, which manifested itself through pop-surrealism, and he began exhibiting for several galleries and public spaces in the city. In the summers from 2014 to 2017, he joined the art residency association St.Henri Castelnaudary, Toulouse. Between 2017 and 2018 he moved back to Vicenza, exhibiting for the biblical festival, after which he began to develop an interest in sculpture that led him to exhibit in 2019 with a solo show in the Gallery &artgallery and subsequent collaborations. In 2020, Barbiero moves towards Landart, which will lead him to create site-specific works for institutions, such as the municipality of Bassano del Grappa (Vi), The Baldo Festival Province of (Vr) 2021, in collaboration with Cariverona. His artistic matrix is based on duality, which he uses to interpret human directions; he finds inspiration in the forms of nature and its workings, using bamboo and scaffolding as the architectural basis that constitute the DNA of his language for the construction of his works. - Andrea T.
