ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Sculpture: Repurposed Architectural Limestone Of The Wind was created from materials salvaged from a Dallas Texas Demolition company. The sculpture still bears the scar of it's life as a high-rise building in downtown Dallas. A bird in flight. Wind lifting strong wings. It's playful. It's powerful. It's nature's teamwork unfolding before our eyes, if we simply take time to be still and look up. We walk through our cities and our lives, thinking of friends and family and colleagues. But how often do we consider and enjoy the thousands of lives around us that don't speak, don't make or sell products, don't drive... Look up. Appreciate the life that is floating on the wind right now, right above you. Of The Wind has sold, however I would love to speak with you about a custom work especially designed for you and your home or office. - Kat

Creating art as a kid = Yep College Degree in Fine Art = Yep Become an artist = hmmm, sort of, hmmm, not yet, hmmm Turn 50 years old = Yep, Let's Do Art!!!! Turn 60 years old - Yep, Why stop now? It took 50 years for me to be in a place secure enough to create art. After a small bout of homelessness in my 20's, I focused on an income in the corporate world. Then the corporate world, unceremoniously, spit me out in 2008. I turned my love of dance into my next career. So much joy came from this, I then turned my attention to art. I have been creating and showing sculpture ever since. Each day I dance and create art is filled with joy! Each day I share what I know with others about dance and art is filled with even more joy. My motto... Wake Up, Be Awesome, Be Kind, Bring Joy, Repeat
