Mariagrazia Abbaldo starts her education at the Istituto d’Arte Jona Ottolenghi in Acqui Terme. In the early nineties she graduated at Politecnico di Torino in Architecture. Between 1989 and 1999 she works in Turin at Elio Luzi's architectectural firm, investigating the sculptural aspect in architecture and deepening its articulation in spaces in the era of homologation. She prefers organic volumes over seriality and an unconventional and ironic use of materials. Mariagrazia uses drawing and engraving as tools of practice, study and knowledge. The interest for landscapes and their transformations arises from her peasant origins and her family’s wine production. She was born in Nizza Monferrato (AT) in 1964 and she has been working with Paolo Albertelli as Studio C&C since 1997. Paolo Albertelli graduated in Architecture at Politecnico di Torino. At the same time he collaborates with various artist, including Gilberto Zorio, Marco Gastini, Luigi Mainolfi and Sergio Fermariello and professional landscape architects specialized in the creation of parks and gardens as Paolo Pejrone e Anna Peyron. The close connection he has with landscapes and his interest in natural elements has been developing since his childhood experiences and passion for mountain and sea. A recurring theme in his research is the concept of limit, particularly the limit between earth and sky. The human presence represents the last border of what, to him, is earth and what is infinite. He was born in Turin in 1966, city where he still lives and works. Since 1997 he has been working with Mariagrazia Abbaldo as Studio C&C.
